Philly is full of clubs, civic groups, and communities worth joining. The hard part is knowing they exist and how to get in.
The Activities Fair puts 40+ of them in one room for an afternoon. This is your chance to meet the people who run the things you've been wanting to try, or didn't know existed. Walk around, ask questions, and leave with a way in.
How it works
Walk in. Browse the tables. Talk to organizers. Stay as long as you want.
The groups range from hobby clubs to civic organizations, and all of them are looking for new people.
There's no application process. No guessing if you're "the right fit." If something sounds good, they'll tell you how to show up next time. If not, keep walking. By the end of the afternoon, you'll know what's out there and how to get involved.
Who you'll meet
Book clubs. Bike crews. Civic coalitions. Sketch artists. Singing circles. Pickup sports. Mutual aid networks.
We're curating a mix that reflects the best this city has to offer.
Full lineup drops March 1.
Who should come
Anyone who wants more from city life than work and errands. Whether you just moved here or you've lived here for years, if you're tired of hearing about things after they already happened—or scrolling past events you'd go to if you knew one person there—this is for you.
What happens after
Most groups will have info on their next event or how to join. Some will have sign-up sheets. We'll also send everyone a follow-up email with links to all the participating organizations in case you want to revisit something later (make sure you RSVP!)
FAQs

What if I’m new in town or coming solo?
Perfect. This is designed for you.
Can I bring a friend?
Absolutely. The more the merrier.
Do I need to RSVP?
Not required, but it helps us plan and gets you a reminder email the week of the event. Plus, everyone who RSVPs is entered into a giveaway (details coming soon!)
Is the event accessible?
The Ethical Society is wheelchair accessible via the entrance on the street behind the building, and the main floor of the Fair will be accessible. The second floor and basement are accessible by stairs only; volunteers can help share information from upstairs clubs if needed.
