Sunrise Philly
Sunrise Philly works for climate justice in Philly! We train on the history of social justice as it applies to climate justice and get young people ready to take non-violent action to improve Philly and create a livable future for young people. We help each other with everyday tasks to make the burden of late-stage capitalism a little more bearable, while learning and finding the strength to pursue an equitable, livable world that is constantly denied to all of us. Do you want to march on the halls of power to ask for a livable future? Or help cook to support the movement? Give us a try and ask for what you need!
Who Should Join
Are you under 35? Working class or poor? Black, brown, indigenous, queer or otherwise marginalized? We center all these groups in our work, and ask that people from dominant groups speak last so those who are structurally precluded from speech have a space which is theirs. If you aren’t marginalized we ask that you listen and learn for a time until you can understand how all social justice struggles are connected, and find your shared interest in solidarity.

There is no cost, however if you wish to be a formal member and you have means there is a $5 monthly membership. Formal membership is not required, and waivers are available for working class and poor members, no questions asked or means testing.
