Photo Book Club

About

Photo Book Club

We all have photo books sitting on our shelves that we love the idea of, but somehow never actually open. Photo Book Club is an excuse to change that. Each month, we get together to pull a few of those books off the shelf and actually spend time with them. Members bring a photobook they love, are curious about, or simply haven’t opened in far too long. We look through the work, talk about the photographer, the images, the ideas behind the book, and whatever else comes up. You don’t need to be a professional photographer or a photobook expert. You just need to be interested in photography and willing to share what catches your eye. It’s a casual, social gathering for photographers, photo lovers, collectors, and anyone who enjoys discovering great work through books. There’s no required reading, no presentations to prepare, and no wrong opinions. Just good books, interesting people, and an excuse to finally open the books we’ve been meaning to look at.

Who Should Join

Photo Book Club is for photographers, photo editors, designers, artists, collectors, students, and anyone who is genuinely curious about photography and photobooks. The people who tend to show up are a mix of working photographers and creative people who simply love looking at photographs. Some have extensive photobook collections, while others are just starting to discover the medium. You don't need to know a lot about photography or own a huge collection of books to join. We're especially hoping to bring together people who are curious, generous with their ideas, and excited to discover work they might not encounter otherwise. If you've ever bought a photo book because you loved it, put it on your shelf, and then realized six months later that you've barely opened it, you're exactly the kind of person we're looking for.
