PhillyCAM
PhillyCAM’s community access media center is based in the heart of the historic district and we’re the city’s designated public access channel. We provide a space where any Philadelphian can show up and learn something new, make meaningful connections, and celebrate a shared love for community media. Ultimately, we’re building community for people-powered media! We equip our members with the tools and resources to create their own stories. Members receive assistance with every step of the production process, from project planning to airing on our channels. We don't just teach people to consume media; we empower them to become creators of high-quality independent and non-commercial content.
Who Should Join
Any Philadelphian with a story to tell! Our older members tend to participate and engage with us the most. We're hoping to attract more students and young people to take advantage of the many benefits of membership with PhillyCAM.
Best Way To Join
Visit our website! Anyone in the city can become a member with us and the cost of an annual membership with us is less than Planet Fitness! Members pay an annual fee of $30 (discounted for seniors and students), attend one orientation session for an interest in TV or radio production, and then you're a full-fledged member! You will then be able to check out equipment from our huge production catalogue, reserve one of our 4 studio spaces to film your own content, receive discounts for certain workshops, and have access to member-only events.
