Books & Banter at The Bank
Books & Banter at The Bank is a community for women who love baseball — especially the Phillies! We’re a little bit book club, a little bit girls’ night out, and a whole lotta “take me out to the ballgame.”
We started in March 2026. We meet up at least once a month for a game, with a very chill tailgate beforehand. Every other month, we build a book club element into that tailgate but we keep it low key so everyone feels included, whether they read the book or not.
We occasionally take day trips to away games, are headed to Illinois to see the Women’s Professional Baseball League playoffs and get together for watch parties at local bars or someone’s home, plus other events tied to our shared interests — think stadium tours, a talk on women in sports at the Historical Society, book swaps or a play connected to a book we read.
As Philly girls, we’ll occasionally branch out too — this winter we’re catching two Sixers games, and have two book retreats planned: one to the Cooperstown Hall of Fame and one for Spring Training.
Who Should Join
This group is for women who like books and baseball — though honestly, you don’t even need to love both to belong. Come if you just want to connect with other women or learn more about the game. Our members range from women in their 20s through their 70s. No one needs to feel weird about showing up alone — most people do. Others come as a mother-daughter duo, or bring a friend or sister. Whether you’re here for one game or every single event, you’re welcome.
